Detailed Plot Synopsis of Luciano for Me!

(WARNING: Contains Spoilers!)

Scene 1: (Airport/Plane/Bus/Roman Coliseum/Trevi Fountain) Eight girls who just graduated from an all-girls High School and their chaperone, Ava, are on their way to Italy. They sing “Summer Vacation” to express their thoughts and excitement. This song moves fluidly from the US airport, to a plane, then to a bus, then a street in Rome. After the girls are all introduced in a roll call, they are greeted by their handsome tour guide: Luciano. They are all smitten and break out into the song: “Luciano for Me”. Their tour brings them to the Trevi Fountain where Ava and Luciano get to talk. She explains where she and the girls are from as she gets to know Luciano better. Her Rome Check List is revealed as well as her need to complete every item on it.

Scene 2: (Museum/Hotel Lobby/Shops in Rome/Piazza Navona) “In the Most Exciting City” The girls are walking around a museum and very bored. The song ends back in the hotel lobby. The girls express their boredom, and Ava decides to take them shopping instead. The girls decide to dress Ava up in the song “European Girl”. Throughout this song, they move from the hotel, to different stores around Rome. They end up at the Piazza Navona, a popular tourist destination. The girls start to bicker over Luciano, and Ava sends them away. She apologizes and explains to Luciano that the girls are from an all-girls school and now they are boy crazy. She and Luciano end up redesigning the tour so that each girl will get to do something she really enjoys on a private tour with Luciano while helping Ava accomplish her list as a disguised chaperon.

Scene 3: (Hotel Lobby) Ava approaches each of the girls and gives them “Secret Invitations” from Luciano. These letters tell each of them when and where to meet him for their individual tour. The girls misinterpret this for a date.

Scene 4: (Dance Club) Luciano takes Wendy Jo to a dance club and teaches her a traditional Italian dance.

Scene 5: (Coffee Shop) Luciano takes Elvira to a beat poetry place. She is touched by how he “gets” her.

Scene 6: (Hotel Lobby) Luciano and Ava discuss the successes of the first two tours, and plans for the rest.

Scene 7: (Various Places in Rome/Park) Luciano does a tour montage where he takes Vienna shopping, Candace out for gelato, Lily to a fair, Maddy to a soccer game and Gemma to a museum. Ava is running around in the background of each tour with a different disguise each time and checking off items on her list. Lastly, Luciano takes Timber out to a park. He gives her a coin with directions to throw into the Trevi Fountain to someday return to Roma. He directs her back to the hotel, and Ava comes out from hiding behind a bush. Luciano asks Ava to go on a private tour to a tapestry museum. After much hesitation, she agrees.

Scene 8: (Hotel Lobby) The girls are bored again, and decide to head to the Trevi Fountain despite not having a chaperone, against Gemma’s wishes.

Scene 9: (A Street in Rome) We see Luciano and Ava having a wonderful time after their time at the museum. Luciano decides to take her to the Trevi Fountain. She agrees to go.

Scene 10: (Trevi Fountain) The girls arrive at the Trevi Fountain and quickly discover that they each have a coin from Luciano with a wish that they will return to Rome. Luciano and Ava show up and the girls hide. Luciano gives Ava a coin, and the girls pop out to defend her singing “Broken Heart Ballad”. Ava sends the girls back to the hotel. Luciano tries to express his feelings for Ava, but she, despite liking him, turns him down. Confused with their feelings, Luciano and Ava sing “How Can I”. At the end of the song, Ava sits on a bench, and an old woman, Mia, comes out to talk to her. She encourages her to follow her heart instead of her head.

Scene 11: (Hotel Lobby) The girls are discussing the events when Ava comes in. She apologizes to them and explains the full story of the plan. Through telling the girls what they deserve, she unknowingly reveals her feelings for Luciano, which prompts Gemma to sing “She Loves Him”. The girls encourage Ava to go tell Luciano her feelings.

Scene 12: (Luciano’s Room) Luciano is hugging another girl. Ava walks in on them, and is about to leave when Luciano introduces her to his mother, Mia. Mia delights in seeing Ava again. Luciano expresses how real his feelings to Ava are. She decides to go ahead and give the relationship a try!

Scene 13: (Rome Airport) Luciano and Ava are a couple now, so the girls enter singing “Luciano for Me-Reprise”. Maddy finds out that the Roman soccer team is going to be on their flight back home…and so will Luciano! He and Ava confess their love to each other, and everyone happily sings: “Because of You”.
